🏆 CITY WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP 2026 🏆
What an incredible day at the Annual City Women’s Championship today! 🎱❤️
10 incredible women stepped up today. Aliesha, Jo, Michelle, Sarah, Trish, Yvonne, Brea, Judy, Brij and Belinda, and what a competition they gave us!
The battle for the Top 3 couldn’t have been tighter, with Aliesha and Jo finishing tied for 1st with 12/18, followed closely by Michelle and Trish on 11/18.
From there, the knockout matches were absolute nail-biters.
🔥 Aliesha vs Jo, an incredible battle with Aliesha taking it 2–1 and advancing to the Final.
🔥 Michelle vs Trish, another incredibly close match, with Michelle taking it 2–1.
That set up Jo vs Michelle in the Semi Final, and once again it went right down to the wire. Jo held her nerve and took the match 2–1, earning herself a place in her FIRST EVER City Women’s Championship Grand Final! 🥹👏
And then came the moment that had everyone smiling… Aliesha vs Jo. ❤️
Two women who genuinely love this game, who support and encourage the people around them, and who were both absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to play each other in the Grand Final.
In the end, Aliesha’s experience came through and she took the Final 2–0, claiming her 4th City Women’s Championship! 🏆🏆🏆
But the final score hardly tells the story of the day.
There were tears, hugs, laughter and so much pride all around at the end. ❤️
✨ JO, this deserves a special mention. ✨
Jo is someone who simply loves the game. She is always encouraging others, cheering people on and bringing such a positive energy to the competition. To watch her step onto that stage today and make her first City Women’s Championship Grand Final was something really special.
Jo, you should be incredibly proud of yourself. What you achieved today was outstanding, and I have no doubt this is only the beginning. ❤️🎱
And to Aliesha, true City veteran who has been competing since her junior days. Her experience, consistency and love for the game are obvious, but what makes her so special is the way she continues to encourage and support her fellow City competitors.
Winning her Fourth Women’s Championship is an incredible achievement, but the way she carries herself and celebrates the success of the women around her is just as impressive.

Div 1 Singles Championship
The Grand Final was played at Qees last night between Dane Beeton and Richard Neville.
Richard won the lag and was on his way to a classy finish but unfortunately just missed the black. Dane confidently cleared.
The remainder of the match followed a similar path with Dane barely putting a foot wrong taking out some classy finishes and Richard missing a couple half-chances
With Dane on the hill at 4-0, Richard had an unfortunate dry break and Dane cleared the table to take the win 5-0. Well played Dane and unlucky Richard, not much you could’ve done.
Congrats to the losing semi-finalists Kenta Huber and last year’s Champion Xavier Daw.

QLD Singles
While the dust hasn’t fully settled on the announcement of the QLD squads for this year’s AEBF National Championships, we can safely report on the various QLD Singles Championships held last weekend.
Firstly in the U23 category we were represented by some familiar faces:
Xavier Daw, Seth Thicthener, Kenta Huber, Lucas Fenech. Please congratulate Seth for finishing 3rd and Xavier 2nd. Both form part of the 3-man Qld U23 team.
O60s – Darren Mahoney was our sole rep, he finished top of the table but unfortunately went down in the Grand Final 3-1.
O50s/Masters – Darren showed he could still mix it up with the spring chickens, finishing 3rd as well, going down to the eventual winner. Ian Huber also proudly represented City in this division.
O50s Ladies – We were represented by Jo Hein and Trish Veivers who finished a very respectable 8th and 9th respectively in a high quality 21-player field. Well done!
Ladies – Jo and Trish both backed it up in the Ladies event and put in solid performances. But special mention to Aliesha Anderson who was in the mix for a top 3 finish but just finished short in 4th place. A terrific effort considering only Australian champions finished above her. Congrats Aliesha!
Opens – City were represented with a mix of seasoned veterans (Dane Beeton, Macwin Fernandes) and first-timers/youth (Bennon Anderson, Seth Thicthener, Scotty Denston). After a lengthy round robin phase, Dane finished 1st and qualified for the Grand Final, Scotty (just 15 yo) finished 3rd and made the Preliminary Final and Bennon finishing a highly commendable 5th. Unfortunately we didn’t have an all-City Grand Final with Scotty going down 3-0 in some closely contested frames in the Preliminary Final.
However Dane was able to show true City-Spirit and win the Grand Final in a nail-biting 4-3 scoreline. This secured Dane’s 5th Qld Open Singles title. Well done Dane!

Due to the number of Byes, there will be only 2 matches commencing at 7pm, with the Last 16 commencing at 8pm, but subject to change should Round 1 finish earlier. Please be available to play from 7.30pm.
All matches will be best of 7 under a 50 minute central match clock. If the scores are tied after 50 mins, a 6-red shootout will determine the winner.
