player Registration – playHQ

All players must register individually with PlayHQ to play with City 8-Ball. No registrations are to be paid directly into the City 8-Ball bank account.
“What is PlayHQ?” – PlayHQ is an online sports management platform for player registrations and payments, etc.
“Why do we now have to register and pay through PlayHQ?” – The governing body for 8-ball in Australia, AEBF (Australian Eight Ball Federation), was required to implement an approved system for managing player registrations for its NSO (National Sporting Organisation) recognition through the Australian Sports Commission. To be officially affiliated with the AEBF, all states, zones, associations, and players need to be registered through PlayHQ.
“When do I need to register by?” – Before playing your third match.
“How much does it cost?” – Registering and paying through PlayHQ includes fees for AEBF ($15), QEBF (Queensland Eight Ball Federation) ($11), SQEBF (Southern Qld Eight Ball Federation) ($2) and City 8-Ball ($16). (State players from the past 5 years +$20). Please note these prices are current as at 2026 and subject to change.
“What do I need to register and pay through PlayHQ?” – An email address, and a credit/debit card for payment (other payment methods are Google Pay & PayPal).
“What if I play for multiple associations?” – You must register through PlayHQ for each association. Note: The fees for AEBF, QEBF, & SQEBF are only payable once, so you must obtain Voucher Codes from a City 8-Ball committee member if you’ve already paid these through another association.
You can register first with City 8-Ball, and therefore not need these Voucher Codes from City 8-Ball.
